The latest updates to Zenless Zone Zero always make players excited, especially with new features and game mechanics being added. The latest Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 update changes how the banners rotate with the so-called ZZZ rerun. This is the hybrid banner release schedule in which new characters will stay most of the time, while there’s a separate spin-up rerun on a different channel. This allows players to have more flexibility in planning their pulls.
For those who are just playing the game for the first time or veterans who’ve been playing since day one, the banner rerun may completely change the way they make the pulls. To make things clearer, this article explains how the rerun mechanism runs, its benefits, and the featured Zenless Zone Zero characters in the reruns. See more details of the Zenless Zone Zero rerun guide below.
A Thing or Two About ZZZ Rerun

Up to this point, we’re pretty sure that many players have been enjoying the “To Be Fuel for the Night” update. Unlike the usual banner releases, most S-rank characters who have just debuted, like Zhao and Ye Shunguang will stay most of the time even when Phase 2 finally starts. This feature applies from the 30th of December to February 2026, which is just weeks away from now. So if you’re planning to get them, go to buffbuff.com and make some top-ups.
Along with the new characters, there will be a separate rerun banner where players can pull heroes that they have missed before. This banner will activate later in the upcoming dates. This rerun banner basically replaces the way banners rerun before. Usually, Phase 2 will automatically replace Phase 1 in its entirety. If you missed someone from the previous banner, it’ll take a long time for them to reappear.
With this mechanism, you will have more choices of banners to pull. There’s a total of three different banners you can essentially juggle, which are debut banners for both Ye Shunguang and Zhao, and there’s a different rerun channel that will likely appear later on. When it’s live, you will not lose the fresh banners.
How ZZZ Rerun Works

So, what makes the rerun banner different from the main banners that we have been familiar with? The rerun banner of Zenless Zone Zero works in a twisty way, but still ultimately favors the players.
The main thing here is the guaranteed S-rank. After you pick an agent you desire, the first S-rank pull from the rerun banner will be that agent. Since it’s pretty much fixed, it’s really ideal to get the agent that you want the most.
Another thing is the pity counters. Many players have built pity on the main banners, which they can later use to pull their desired banners. The good news is, any pulls made from this banner won’t affect the main banners’ pity in any way. It will be a different one that you can use for this specific banner.
The ZZZ rerun banner will be available mid-patch, which means around January 21st to mid-February 2026. This is great for players who missed the main banner pulls, because they can still get a chance to get their desired agent without having to deal with the difficulty of the main banners’ RNG. This banner will be called The Exclusive Rescreening.
Another benefit the players can get is the flexibility in making the pulls, since there’s no “one banner at a time” limit this time around. Players can basically target their favorite more freely since the 2.5 update.
This means if you target an agent, you basically have enough time to make for another one. For example, if you successfully pulled Ye Shunguang, you will still have time to get Zhao without sacrificing the chance of getting the rerun banner later on.
When Will ZZZ Rerun Banner Be Released?

The rerun banner will be planned to release starting from January 21st to the last day of the patch. Here are the details about Phase releases in the 2.5 update.
Phase 1 – New Agent Banners
The banners in Phase 1 have already been available since December 30 and will last until January 21. It introduces two new limited agents, Ye Shunguang and Zhao.
Ye Shunguang
For those who want a new damage-dealer S-type agent, Ye Shunguang may be a favorite pick. She can easily deal serious damage with her skills that are built for sustained pressure. Using Ye Shunguang, you can be more active on the field by focusing on positioning and maintaining uptime.
This core carry agent is suitable for players who are looking for aggressive gameplay with damage output that’s mostly consistent. Using her skills, you can utilize larger stagger windows to deal more damage.
Zhao
Contrary to Ye Shunguang, Zhao is an S-Rank tanker. As the enemies become more challenging as the story goes on, having a great Defense Agent, like Zhao, is definitely a key to winning the game. However, Zhao is not a tank that will only stay in his place to block damage. Instead, he will be on the front line mitigating damage and stabilizing the front line.
He can be obtained through the Priceless Heart banner, which is released at the same time as Ye Shunguang’s. This opens two possibilities for the players. Do you want to deal more damage or be more durable for challenging tasks?
Since there will be the exclusive rerun banner, these two new agents will still be available in Phase 2. So there is basically a very long time to get both characters until the patch ends in February 2026.
Phase 2 – Exclusive Rescreening Rerun
The new rerun banner, Exclusive Rescreening Rerun, will be available from January 21 to the end of the patch, allowing players to have the opportunity to obtain the specific agent they want to target. With the perk of a guaranteed S-Rank agent, it will erase the hardships of obtaining a specific character.
With this banner around, you may have a chance to obtain other great S-Rank agents, like Alice Thymefield, Soldier 0: Anby, and Astra Yao.
Conclusion
The upcoming Exclusive Rescreening Rerun banner is definitely great news, especially when it’s not the usual rerun banner. The ability to target specific S-Rank agents will definitely be helpful, especially for the new players who have just learned how the game rolls.
